Spurs played 3 games in a week and looked fresher than most teams, Aston Villa had their biggest victory since the mid 1930’s and while the total number of penalties due to handballs has reduced the overall number of goals has continued to surprise us.
The competitive advantage that the top teams has commanded over the last few seasons seems diminished this time around. It seems an even playing field and defensive errors has led to a thrashing of teams no matter how good the pedigree. This is not only the case in the EPL but was also seen in the Bundesliga in the 2 GW’s.
Many FPL managers rushed to their Wildcard last week and even more are looking to take advantage of the IB with price rises as they feel they have understood the direction their team needs to take.
